About the Program

The Pharmacist Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Course is an opportunity for pharmacists to deepen their clinical knowledge of wound, ostomy, and continence-related conditions to provide evidence-informed support to pharmacy clients.

Emphasis is placed on developing a holistic understanding of skin health, wound types, ostomy care, and continence challenges to provide comprehensive assessments, identify risk factors, and recommend management strategies.

Learners will develop skills to differentiate common ostomy, continence, wound & skin issues, select appropriate management products, and provide accurate education to support individuals’ independence and self-management.

Upon completion, pharmacists will be prepared to apply a holistic understanding of skin health, wound types, ostomy care, and continence issues to strengthen assessment, identify risk factors, recommend appropriate management strategies and product selection, and collaborate effectively with NSWOCs and the broader healthcare team.
