External Funding Opportunities 

Supporting Ontario nurses and practical nurses unable to work due to illness or injury. The fund helps those seeking re-training to return to nursing.

RNFOO awards and scholarships are funded by individuals, estates, corporations, and RNAO Interest Groups.

The BEGIN program provides tuition grants to PSWs and RPNs in bridging programs, helping them advance their nursing careers by removing financial barriers.

Grants provide partial funding for self-paid educational activities to improve nursing practice.

The Canadian Nurses Foundation awards merit-based scholarships from $750 to $10,000 for nursing students at the baccalaureate, master's, and Ph.D. levels.

This new collection of awards, to be known as Nurses in Practice, will focus on nurses currently practicing. The application process for these awards will open in the Spring

The Nursing Education Initiative (NEI) provides grants of up to $1,500 per year to support nurses in continuing education and professional development.

The standard award is $1,000, with recipients chosen randomly among eligible applicants. Students are encouraged to apply each year, regardless of past applications or awards.

The Canadian Nurses Foundation reimburses up to the full cost of CNA specialty certification and renewal exams, provided they are completed within the application year.
